LANGUAGE ARTS Project:
For Thursday: Draw a picture of YOU! Do your best. Color it too. Then write one sentence underneath your picture to describe yourself. Make sure to check your sentence for proper use of capital letters and punctuation. Take a picture of your colored drawing and sentence with a phone or your laptop camera, and send the file to Mrs. Wilt ON SKYPE ON FRIDAY when you check in for the day at 8:30 am. :-) PLEASE WAIT to send it on Friday. :)
For Friday: Think about your summer. Write about your highest point and your lowest point from this summer. What was your best thing from this summer? What was your worst thing this summer? Why? Describe them by writing a paragraph for each one. Be sure to explain why the best was the best and the worst was the worst. Add details. Write in complete sentences, and organize your sentences into two paragraphs.
Directions for Your Paper:
1. Younger students should write a two paragraph paper. Each paragraph should begin with a topic sentence. Each paragraph should include two additional sentences to share details that describe the topic. Each paragraph should end with a summary sentence that restates the topic in a different way and brings it to a close. *Older students (6th grade and older) should include more details.
2. Use a pencil to write your rough draft on notebook paper or in a story organizer. Then use your rough draft to organize your paragraphs. *Students in kindergarten and first grade this year may dictate their sentences to their parents.
3. Type your paper in a Word document. (Students fourth grade and older should type their own paper.) Think carefully about what you want to say. Choose words that will help your teachers understand and get to know you better.
4. Carefully proofread your sentences by reading them aloud. Check your spelling and grammar. Did you put capital letters and punctuation marks where they were needed? :) Make any changes that might be needed.
5. Be sure to add a title! :-)
6. Finally, name your file when you save it. Example: Last name_First name_Title.
7. On *Monday share the saved file with Mrs. Wilt by sending it to her on Skype when you check in to begin your day at 8:30 am. Please wait until MONDAY to share it with Mrs. Wilt. :)
